Privacy by Design

Privacy by design is in our core values at Open HealthHub. That’s why we use end-to-end encryption to protect your data as a patient or healthcare facility. With end-to-end encryption, your answers, photos, videos and files are protected. Only you and your physician can view the data, no one else.

How does end-to-end encryption work

With end-to-end encryption, each user is given a unique secret key (private key). The key is owned only by the user and no one else. Open HealthHub does not have the key. In addition, each user has a lock (public key).

When a healthcare professional sends a healthcare module to the patient, the healthcare professional also sends their lock. The lock is open.

For example, the patient fills out the questionnaire and puts it in an envelope with the lock of the healthcare professional. The patient closes the lock. The physician can now use his own unique key to open the lock and read the message.
